Since 1982, I've worked as a print journalist for outlets including The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Washington Times, covering the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court. I rediscovered my love of photography at the White House, where working alongside world-class photojournalists like Doug Mills of the New York Times gave me the bug to pick up a camera again.
I then shifted my lens to subjects such as wildlife and working boats. Based in Annapolis, Maryland, I have honed my skills around the Chesapeake Bay, including workshops with photographer Jay Fleming aboard his boat.
I'm also grateful to the many fine photographers who have offered tips during my outings at Huntley Meadows, a gem of a park in Northern Virginia, and to Dee Peppe, an extraordinary photographer and instructor based in Maine.
